The Weber Griddle is powered by propane. It is great for breakfast, burgers or a fun hibachi night!

What's better than smoking some ribs or pork loin for the group? The smoker is powered by pellets.

It's hard to beat a propane grill to make the perfect burger or steak - or maybe even some kabobs!

Ahhhhh... time for a soak after a day of fun!

Enjoy some warmth with a view and maybe even a s'more!

A table with seating for 8, benches and various chairs/seating arrangements means there is a spot for everyone!

There are three heating and cooling systems throughout the house.
The thermostat on the main floor controls the floor heat in the garage and lower level .
The other systems are heated and cooled with a Trane heat pump.
On the thermostat located on the main and upper floors, you will see that there is a feature where you can select auto heating and cooling (far left on the image). This feature keeps the house in a 3-degree range starting heating or cool as needed, however we have found it's hard to keep the basement comfortable with this feature.
INSTEAD, we recommend selecting either the heating or cooling button (second or third on the image) and then click the temperature to the degree you want it to be.
The house is very efficient so adjust to the degree you would like and give it around 15 to 20 minutes to adjust.
Fireplace Information
There are fireplace controls on the walls by the fireplace. Simply turn them on and set to temperature you desire. If you run the fireplace, it will make the basement cooler as then the furnace for the whole house will not run as much.

You likely saw some of the potential trails on the way into the lodge, there are lots of them and they lead you alot of fun directions. The link below takes you to trail information from the Forest Service. A bit down the page, you will see where you can download free maps to your mobile device through the Avenza Map. If you're in a side x side, one of our favorites rides is to wind around and end up at Nemo for a quick stop then venture on!
There are a number of great hikes in the area ranging from mild to more aggressive. If your looking for one that is a good starter head to Rough Lock Falls. It's about 2 miles round trip or if you have some walkers and some nonwalkers, you can drop the walkers off then have the nonwalkers meet them up the road so all can enjoy the outdoors. It's free and it's beautiful!
A fun interactive experience for all ages - buy a little bag of fish food and join in the fun. NO CHARGE and kids love it!
The Sugar Shack is renowned for burgers and yes, we agree they are great! However, we also love a delicious traditional breakfast and they nail it.
Lewie's is a famous Black Hills stop. Just a short drive away, take in an authentic Black Hills experience and enjoy a burger from Lewie's!
Tasty ice cream shop is a must after a day of exploring!
Play some cards, roll the dice on the craps table or find a machine. Going back to the authentic roots of Deadwood, the dealers at the craps table in Tin Lizzy are the best (and most fun).
Roubaix Lake is a small nearby lake where you can go swimming, kayak/canoe, go fishing or ice skating. So load the gang, take a picnic and explore!
Delicious Hand Dipped Chocolates! Need I say more....

We hope you have enjoyed your stay! Check out time is 10 am. To prepare for departure, please put all garbage in bags and take them to the outside garbage cans. Be sure to check the rooms for all of your belongings. If you can start a load of towels in the washing machines before you leave, that would really help our cleaning crew out. Please lock up as you leave. We will handle the rest.
Thanks again for staying with us, we hope it's been a great stay!
