Wireless Internet is provided by Starlink technology. Password is displayed on the refrigerator and on various displays through the house.
Each room is equipped with a Smart TV and a ROKU stick. Log in to various apps for your enjoyment.
Bluetooth speaker is available in the great room in one of the lights in the ceiling. Search the Bluetooth settings on your phone and click to connect and have some fun!

Ahhhhh... time for a soak after a day of fun!

A table for outdoor meals, couches and various chairs on the deck and patio means there is a spot for everyone!

Fishing poles are in the garage for fishing for trout on the stream the wraps around the property or venture across the road to the small pond stocked with Bluegill and perch. There are also 2 bikes and helmets, check out the famous Mickelson trail just down the road!

The house is heated with electric heat registers. There are thermostats throughout the house so each area can be individually controlled for your comfort.
For cooling, the master and upper floors have mini splits. The mini splits are operated off a controller so each room can be set individually for your comfort. Additionally, there is a whole home fan that essentially pulls cool mountain air into the house very quickly.
For the whole house fan to work the best, open the walk-through door on the lower level before clicking on the fan. The fan is controlled by a switch next to the basement door OR with a switch on the upper floor wall. Keeping the door open on the lower level, run the fan for 5 to 10 minutes and the air within the house will 'flip' with outside air.
On warm days, closing the shades on the upper level makes a huge difference in keeping everyone comfortable.

Not everyone can say they have a forest in their backyard, but this location does! Take a hike up the hill and find beautiful unique formations. Explore to the East and you may even find a partial cave. The views and formations are simply fantastic and just a short hike away!
Located right on main street, the Alpine Inn is a renowned restaurant in South Dakota. A limited but delicious menu will you mouth watering meal. The steaks are delicious but leave room for the dessert. Even if you are too full and have to take it to go - don't skip it! They do not take reservations but are worth the wait so stop in, give them your name explore a little of the downtown and a table should be ready.
Located just 1/2 mile from the house, Chute Rooster has a full menu of selections (the burgers are delicious) and some of the best signature drinks in town. Atmosphere is authentic and fun and lots of time there is live music!
Board the historic 1880 train at the station located just a mile from the house. Breathe in the crisp mountain air while you enjoy the views of the Black Hills.
There are a number of great hikes in the area ranging from mild to more aggressive. near Sylvan Lake. If you're up for a challenge, hike Black Elk Peak (sometimes known as Harney Peak) which is the highest point in South Dakota. Be sure to pack your swimming gear as the area is beautiful and perfect for a swim. It's free and it's beautiful!
When our family was visiting Hill City, we had a range of ages along with activity levels so we were looking for something everyone would enjoy. The Buffalo Safari hit the mark! They were able to safely take us near the Buffalo and teach us about the area, but we could talk and have fun along the way.
The Mickelson trail is a beautifully constructed trail that allow you to explore within the Black Hills safety. You can access the trail just a few miles from the house. Two bikes are in the garage with helmets so get on and explore!
Trout fishing is HUGE in the beautiful Black Hills. You can fish in the stream that wraps around the property or go into the pond at Hill City to fish from shore. Fishing poles are in the garage and bait can be purchased at many gas stations or the grocery store. They are delicious and alot of fun to catch!

We hope you have enjoyed your stay! Check out time is 10 am. To prepare for departure, please put all garbage in bags and take them to the outside garbage cans. Be sure to check the rooms for all of your belongings. If you can start a load of towels in the washing machines before you leave, that would really help our cleaning crew out. Please lock up as you leave. We will handle the rest.
